Privacy Policy

Account details — name, email, phone, password hash, and profile photo.

Location — the address you enter for care, used to match you with nearby sitters and to calculate the applicable provincial tax. Sitter locations are shown on the public map only as an approximate point, never an exact address.

Pet details — names, species, breed, age, medical and behavioural notes you choose to share with your sitter.

Booking and payment records — bookings, messages, reviews, amounts, payouts and refunds. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never stored by Floof.

Technical data — device, browser, IP address and pages visited, used for security and to improve the product.

To create and run your account, match owners with sitters, take payment and pay sitters, send booking and account emails, prevent fraud and abuse, meet tax and legal obligations, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.

Only what is needed, and only with: the other party to your booking (an owner sees the sitter's profile and, once confirmed, their address; a sitter sees the owner's contact and pet details), Stripe for payments and payouts, Google Maps for geocoding and the search map, and our email delivery provider. Service providers may process data outside Canada and are bound by confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Account and booking records are kept while your account is active and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and dispute-resolution rules require — typically seven years for financial records. Messages tied to a booking are kept with that booking.

You can access, correct, export or delete your personal information, withdraw consent to marketing at any time, and ask how your data has been used. Email hello@floofpetcare.ca and we'll respond within 30 days. Deleting an account does not remove records we must keep for legal or financial reasons.

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember search preferences and measure how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but signing in will stop working.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to what each role needs, and payment credentials never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting you occurs we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required.

Floof is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
